We all have them; those days when the alarm goes off too soon. The night was too short and snoozing feels better than putting your feet to the floor and getting up. The decision is made at that moment; this is not going to be a good day. Even though a happy song comes on the radio and the sun is starting to rise at the horizon and the smell of coffee is wafting through the house as it ‘automatically’ starts to brew – a good day will not happen!
The people on the radio seem determined to change your mood; they keep playing those bouncy, happy, sunny tunes. You have to force your self not to hum along as you prepare for your day. Even your hair cooperates and a “good hair day” results during grooming. The perfect outfit comes together and fits just right.
It is amazing, the traffic is extra heavy on the way to work and yet cars let you into the line, you make green lights and no one cuts you off! The coffee shop barista is pleasant and friendly and gets your coffee to you with a pleasant smile. People greet you while walking down the hallways, they are saying hello and yes, they are smiling!
What is wrong with this world today? Is this a conspiracy to ruin my bad day or an April Fools Joke! What should happen when you deliberately set off to have a bad day and everything goes absolutely right? Do you succumb to the happy people or frown and grumble? Well, I find myself humming a happy tune and enjoying my day just as much as the rest of them. After all, having a nice day isn’t an everyday occurrence we should take advantage of them as they come! “Have a Nice Day!”
